E. Stanley Jones, the great Methodist Missionary to India said it best: “Unless the Holy Spirit fills, the human spirit fails.” The Book of Acts is entitled the Acts of the Apostles in most of our Bibles. But a reading of this book will quickly convince us that these are indeed the acts of the Holy Spirit. Please join Dr. Mark Roberts for a verse-by-verse study of the Book of Acts.

Conference Room / 5:30pm
Class participants hold each other accountable for memorizing and discussing one Bible verse each week. Focus is on the meaning of the verse with the main benefit being able to understand what it says and apply it to our lives. This is a very low-key way to hide God’s word in your heart to form a life-changing practice.

THE BOOK OF GALATIANS: THE POWER AND GLORY
In Acts 12, the Spirit told the church in Antioch to send Paul on mission to Asia Minor. The Galatian churches were the Spirit’s first fruits of that mission. So when Paul heard that a pied piper was leading them away from Jesus-focused faith, he knew that they were being unplugged from Holy Spirit power, and that their hearts were at risk. In the Book of Galatians, Paul arrives on the scene to steer these new believers away from shipwrecking their faith on the delusional Siren call to a lifeless faith. These were being drawn away into poverty, away from the richness of the power and the glory of life in the Spirit of God . . by the sparkle of artificial diamonds and fool’s gold. You’re cordially invited join us in re-discovering the power and the glory of the Spirit life, along with the Galatians.

ST. JAMES KIDS
Percilla McClary, Jessica Spears and Dana Jones Children's Ministry Directors
Nursery (age 3 years and under) While parents attend class on campus, these children get play time and a small lesson about a simple Bible truth. This is a nurturing environment to help our youngest kids begin to see church as a fun, loving place they want to be.
Early Childhood (4 years old - Kindergarten) This age group has a different lesson theme each month, but they always focus on one of three main truths. God loves Me. God made me. Jesus wants to be my friend forever. Each week of the month they are learning more about the monthly lesson through video, craft, songs, games and discussion time. Each lesson focuses on one clear and simple bottom line so every kid can walk away and remember what matters most. This age group even works on a simple memory verse each month. SJC Kids is thrilled to have the privilege of teaching some of our youngest kids about God’s love for them through basic Bible truths! This age group will participate in Christmas Musical rehearsals for part of their night beginning in October.
Elementary (1st - 3rd grades) Trackers of Truth is a program designed to develop the basics of Christianity in our children, instilling in them a knowledge of where truth is found, examples of Biblical “Trackers of Truth,” and a desire to seek truth for themselves. The children will go through the Old Testament in chronological order, learning many highlights of the Old Testament stories. At the same time, they will learn of the many glimpses of the coming Savior, as revealed in the New Testament. They will soon understand that in the Old Testament, Jesus was present but concealed, whereas in the New Testament, Jesus was revealed. Each week, the children will also learn practical lessons of personal application to assist them in their own spiritual growth. This group will split their time between Trackers of Truth and Christmas Musical rehearsal in October and then take a break from Trackers of Truth during November and December to focus solely on Christmas Musical and Advent.
Upper Elementary (4th-5th grades) Bible Biz is an exciting, super-fun, fast-paced time of Bible study and quizzing competition. Each “Bizzer” gets a manual with daily devotions that include verse-by-verse commentary. Through the course of this school year, we will get through a large part of the Book of Matthew.” and at the end “It is preferred that every Bizzer has a book but not required. The cost of the book is $10 (scholarships available). The idea is to give our older elementary kids the chance to do more challenging devotions and, at the same time, teach them the value of getting into the habit of reading and studying the Bible on a regular, hopefully daily, basis! Bible Biz is visitor-friendly and also understanding of Bizzers who had a busy week and didn’t get through the whole devotion. There is plenty of review and nobody goes home empty handed. However, those who come super prepared are also rewarded. We hope your 4th and 5th graders will come and bring their friends! It will be awesome! This group will split their time between Bible Biz and Christmas Musical rehearsal in October and then take a break from Bible Biz during November and December to focus solely on Christmas Musical and Advent.
