The story of Adam is terminal... Begins and ends in dust.
Because of disobedience, sin entered the world and life became profoundly limited.
Sin leads to death...
But sin too can die!
Sin dies at the pierced hands of the Messiah.
Sin finds its end when Jesus appears and calls us to "come and die."
23 Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. 24 For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it. 25 What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit their very self?
Just like Christ was crucified by men. Now He asks men and women to crucify their sin. But sin will try to escape death by schemes and strategies for you to keep it alive.
DON'T BE DECEIVED!
Then I acknowledged my sin to you
and did not cover up my iniquity.
I said, “I will confess
my transgressions to the Lord.”
And you forgave
the guilt of my sin.
What sin in your life is fighting to stay alive?
What sin must be acknowledged before your God in repentance?
What sin do you need to crucify?
1 In you, Lord, I have taken refuge;
let me never be put to shame.
2 In your righteousness, rescue me and deliver me;
turn your ear to me and save me.
3 Be my rock of refuge,
to which I can always go;
give the command to save me,
for you are my rock and my fortress.
4 Deliver me, my God, from the hand of the wicked,
from the grasp of those who are evil and cruel.
